I think they cried, because of the Pulse of Awakening. All Proxies went on a killing spree and were meant to destroy themselves. The pulse affected Monad and Proxy One. They loved each other, but Monad was destined to fly with Ergo Proxy into the Sunlight, killing him thus. As Re-l and Vincent were made from them, they also had this strange love/hate relationship, but not as strong as Proxies. They didn't want to hurt each other, but were destined to. I think that’s why they cried at the beginning. They subconsciously knew their fate.
if the proxy are made to kill each other then how does proxy one and monad love each other as well as kazkis proxy and sennex proxy?
so that means, Re-l and vincent are monad and proxy one clone? No wonder Re-l trying her best to bringVincent back to romdo although she's in viral infection on and 6 episode...
